All religions basically teach their followers to do good deeds. Why should a person only follow Islam?

The premise that 'all religions basically teach the same thing' is partially true — most religions share common ethical teachings like honesty, charity, and kindness. However, there are fundamental differences that cannot be dismissed, particularly regarding the concept of God and the preservation of scripture.

The Common Origin of Religions: Muslims believe that Allah sent prophets to every nation throughout history (Qur'an 35:24), and all of them brought the same essential message — worship One God alone. Moses, Jesus, Abraham, and Muhammad ﷺ all taught monotheism. In their original, unaltered form, the teachings of these prophets were essentially the same religion: Islam (submission to One God).

The Qur'an states: 'This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion' (5:3). Islam is presented not as a new religion, but as the final, complete, and preserved version of the same truth all prophets taught.
