Narrated by Abu Hurairah
مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمْ لاَ يُرْحَمْ
Translation
The Prophet said: 'He who does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.'
Commentary
One of the most concise and powerful hadith narrations. It establishes mercy as a universal principle in Islam — not limited to Muslims, but extending to all creation. The construction is absolute: the absence of mercy from a person results in the absence of divine mercy toward them.
