Hijab distinguishes Islam (normative revelation) from Muslims (fallible practitioners/states), conceding Muslim governments often fail Islamic ideals while denying this falsifies Islam's truth claims. He also argues liberal modernity coexisted with colonial violence, so contemporary liberal success claims cannot ignore historical moral costs.

Hijab argues migrants, including Muslims and descendants of migrants, materially sustain host societies (healthcare, economic output, charity, labor) and that many refugee flows are downstream of wars and interventions by Western powers. He frames anti-immigration complaint cycles as ignoring causality: destabilization abroad followed by moral refusal at the border.
