Sahih al-Bukhari — Hadith 6018

Narrated by Abu Hurairah

Translation

The Prophet said: 'Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his neighbor. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest.'

Commentary

This hadith links faith directly to social behavior. Belief in God and the Day of Judgment must manifest in three practical ways: disciplined speech, respect for neighbors, and hospitality. It illustrates that Islam views ethical conduct as inseparable from theological belief.
